Like many businesses in Canada our firm is looking for ways to support Canadian businesses in as many ways as possible.
One of the many changes we made in doing so has been to our firm’s snack cupboard, where we have done our best to ensure our team is fed and fuelled with Canadian products. This, unfortunately, is easier said than done, as figuring out which companies are Canadian or not and which of their products are produced or sourced in Canada is frankly time-consuming.
Below are some suggestions of our team’s favourites to get you started.
- Hardbite Chips
Hardbite Chips are a Canadian Chip brand that offers both potato and non-potato-based chips, they’re Canadian owned and their products are manufactured in Canada. While they have some “healthy chip” options, if that is your thing, I assure you their potato chips are a great replacement for any non-Canadian chips your team may currently enjoy.
- Twigz
If you are like me and love seasoned pretzel sticks, Twigz is a fantastic Canadian-owned and manufactured alternative to existing products on the market.
- Dare Foods
Dare Foods is a Canadian owned company that has a large variety of products spanning an array of different foods. Their products are made in both the US and Canada but provides too many foods to not include on this list.
- The Great Canadian Meat Company
The Great Canadian Meat Company is Canadian owned and manufactured in Canada, the sell a large variety of dried meat products like jerky and pepperoni. Their pepperoni sticks are one of the biggest hits in our firms snack cupboard.
Hopefully, this serves as a starting point to give your business the push it needs to buy Canadian Snacks. If the products I have listed above aren’t of interest to you, I recommend using the Made in CA website as it is a great resource to cut through the fog of what are truly Canadian-owned companies or made in Canada products.
